With around one million variations, it can fine tune your existing putter, taking account of your stroke, line-up and eyesight. If it is found wanting, you can choose a better club from Heritage Golf's extensive range.

Said Heritage Golf's founder, Barry Kerr, "We are a putting centre of excellence for golfers who realise they may be losing vital strokes on the green. Half of the allowable strokes in a round of golf are allocated to putting. It is a game within a game and no match is ever won on the fairway.

"The assessment is done here, then the statistics are sent off electronically to Oregon where the putter heads are machined from the solid. We can tell how quickly any given putt will start the ball rolling and how accurate and efficient is your stroke. It is a piece of kit completely unique to ourselves outside North America.''

It's always best to book an appointment then go for an assessment which takes about half an hour.

"Bring your own putter and we will start with that and work through the various systems,'' Barry explained. "We can verify if someone has a putter that is not appropriate for them. Alignment is key and it is very interesting, from our standpoint, to note that many people do not actually aim at the target when they are putting. We start with the alignment, using lasers to see how accurate it is. We check this several times over then, if you have got a problem with your own putter, we build - using a structured process of elimination - a putter from variable components. Changes are made until you have a putter which you will be able to align directly at the target.
"It is hardly surprising that many golfers change their putters on a regular basis, searching for that special club that suits their particular physical requirements. Heritage Golf now eliminates the guesswork and can produce that unique piece of equipment that every golfer should aspire to.''
